Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym Review

Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym ReviewThe Ultimate 2 Home Gym from Bowflex is exactly that, with 95 different exercises and the 310 lbs of resistance (can be upgraded to 410lb) this gym could be the perfect peice of equipment for any lifter or fitness fanatic.

But, are all the extra’s actually needed? Or is it a jam packed weight lifting machine? Here we will look at whether or not the price hike of $2300 is justified and how it compares to the rest of the Bowflex models.

Bowflex Ultimate 2 Equipment Information

  • The Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym comes with 310lb resistance as standard! But there is also an option of an upgrade to 410 lbs for the price of $100 but I am sure that if you contact them they might scrap this price tag and give it you for free!
  • Like the revolution model it has the no change pulley system which is very handy. You can change from squats to pulldowns without any messing about, wereas the lesser models don’t offer this.
  • The Lat Tower has a wide angled lat bar which is very effective for building a strong back and strong shoulders.
  • There is a rowing machine included which is very quiet and very smooth. This is great for warming up and cooling down before you use the Bowflex Ultimate 2.
  • The leg extension section can be used to build up those quads (front thighs) and with the leg curl attachment you can get to those hamstrings easily.
  • The preacher curl attachment offers you great resistance and is used to build those biceps
  • The squat station is positioned so that you can’t fail to squat in the correct posture, and it really supports the back well
  • The ab crunch is an optional attachment which really targets both the upper and lower abs
  • With the Bowflex Ultimate 2 you have an option of 5 different grips that include Regular Grip, Non-Grip Cuff, Ankle Cuff, Foot Cuff and a Shoulder Cuff.
  • You can also adjust the pulleys which is great for when you want to work on on certain areas of any muscle group. This can add depth and variation to any workout
  • The storage of this home gym is a lot easier compared to other models as it folds up vertically and wheels away into the corner
  • Comes with a DVD that offers a special 20 minute workout thats specifically designed for the Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym
  • It also comes with a huge poster that shows all of the 95 exercises the Ultimate 2 can do

Benefits

In this Bowflex Ultimate Review we found 6 major benefits, read them now below:

  • The Bowflex Ultimate 2 storage is great because the horizontal bench can be folded up vertically and, so it can be stored very easily
  • The leg press extension is a welcomed addition especially for those of you that find squats difficult or not enjoyable
  • The horizontal bench machines can also be used as a rowing machine which is perfect for warming up and cooling down
  • Less cable changes allowing for a much easier workout
  • The preacher curl attachment allows you to target and isolate the biceps as the other muscles can’t help your biceps due to the position of the pad
  • The squat station is the daddy of this machine, with squats being one of the hardest exercises to do normally because of the amount of body parts involved. Its all about balance and flexibility as its hard to come up and down with a good posture. With the Bowlfex Ultimate 2 it’s near impossible to get your posture wrong.

Downsides

  • Yep you guessed it, one of the cons to this machine is the price. Its very high I know but its worth noting that there is a 12 year warranty offered with it.
  • Is very heavy, although there are wheels attached so if the home gym is placed on a hard florr it should be fine, the difficulty comes if the Bowflex Ultimate 2 is moved on a carpet floor.

Conclusion

One of the best things about the Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym is that its very versatile. It can be used for any member of the family from young teens to serious bodybuilders, although serious bodybuilders would probably need to buy the 100lb weight add on. Whether your planning to lose weight, tone up, build muscle, this machine can do it all. If you can afford the price tag its not a problem but it’s worth taking note that they offer a 12 month repayment plan, but be careful as there is a charge of +20% after that 12 months, so it maybe worth finding other financing companies that are a bit more flexible Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym Review

The best place to buy the Bowflex Ultimate 2 Home Gym is from Amazon.com again, the prices are continually the best I’ve found for home gyms.
